The Plant that Wouldn't Die

It's a long story and I thought it was over.  But it's not.

I am not sure if I am pleased or disappointed, but the plant that I have been trying to kill isn't going down without a fight.  If only it had this pluck while I was fretting over it.  I got a hand-me-down Venus Flytrap about two years ago.  It has been slowly circling the drain for a year.  Admittedly, I had no idea what these plants needed.  It just so happened that I planted it in the proper medium totally by chance.  But I had been watering it with tap water.  And I had made the soil too alkaline.  And there was no winter dormancy.  And I watered it too much.  Plus, that plant hates me.  It can smell my fear.

So I did the only thing I could to save my dignity: tried to kill it.  If you don't wanna grow, see what I care.  Well, I stopped all watering for a month and the Venus Flytrap ceased to exist.

And then I found this.  Really now.  I was even thinking about the new plant I wanted to plant in there.  I had moved on and put all its stuff on craigslist.  Now what?

I am currently trying reverse psychology and watering it again.... because it hates me when I care.  But we'll see.  I would be delighted if I had an Audrey III situation on my hands (Shop of Horrors, anyone? anyone?).

See what I'm doing wrong:
