Many rocks. So many rocks. I will try to keep it under control and throw in some non-rock posts, but I just went to a rock show today and I bought some stuff. Now I have rocks on the mind.
These are some of my purchases (gratuitous close up):
I think that they are some type of quartz. Most of the other specimens on the table were some form of quartz, but the vendor selling them didn't really have too much information on them. I hate it when that happens; I really like to learn what I am getting but I guess it will make for an online scavenger hunt. And that will keep me distracted for a while.
The only problem is, they are so pretty that I hate to use them on something that isn't awesome. I was thinking about incorporating them into a terrarium. But I am going to have to wait on a plant that is interesting enough to stand up to these guys.
The best part? They were freaking cheap! I got all four pieces for $10. Seriously, $10.
The Annual Summer Festival is going through the weekend at the Rice Museum (Northwest Fossil Festival next weekend). If you find yourself in Oregon, I highly recommend that you check it out.
